A preparatory Summer School for graduate students and post-docs takes place between 21 and 24 August, 2009. The following short courses, each consisting of 3 lectures, will be given:
J.B. Bost: Formal, analytic, and algebraic curves in algebraic varieties over number fields
C. Faber: Cohomology of moduli spaces of curves
G. van der Geer: Modular forms and moduli spaces
D. Smyth: Birational geometry of the moduli space of curves
The first lecture is on Friday August 21, at 1:00 pm. The school ends on Monday August 24, before lunch. More details: www.math-berlin.de/summerschool
We offer support to find accommodation and we provide limited financial support for travel and accommodation costs for young researchers and graduate students. The deadline for application for financial support has passed. There will be no registration fee to attend the school or the conference.
