Helpful services for the home office

The university offers many options to enable and support working and collaborating in the home office. Here is a list of some tools that might be helpful. Almost all of them simply require you to log in with your CMS/HU account (this is the account you use to log in to Agnes). And then you can start right away!

Overleaf: The university now has an Overleaf license. Here you can edit latex documents together and at the same time online. It is currently still in test mode. Access: latex.hu-berlin.de

Etherpad: The Etherpad is an online text editor where you can edit texts together and at the same time. In contrast to Overleaf, this is a simple editor, useful for quickly collecting a few ideas together. This is also still in test mode. Access: hu.berlin/etherpad

Remote access: For one or the other it could be important to access a math calculator via SSH in order to be able to work from home at the university. You can find a detailed explanation on the IT Group page.

Tutoring

I'm looking for tutoring: From time to time, students come to the student advisory service or the student council and want regular help with their exercises and the understanding of the lecture material. So if you are looking for someone who can support you individually and in the long term, you can send your request for tuition to the following email address:

fsrmath-nachhilfe (at) lists.hu-berlin.de

(This is an e-mail distribution list that forwards your request to all students who have indicated their willingness to give tuition to us. The aim should be that one of these students then contacts you and you can arrange everything else directly. )

I want to give tutoring: We are looking for students who would like to give math tutoring to other students. If you feel like it, then

(The subject should not be changed. There is a short confirmation email in each case.)

Then you will receive all tutoring requests to your email address. If you have received a suitable request, you can clarify any further questions directly (by e-mail) with the requesting tutoring student.

Study and examination regulations

The current study and examination regulations for the respective courses can be found on the faculty website. Here you can read which modules you have to listen to in your studies, as well as the scope of the respective modules and a brief description of the content. At the end there is also an ideal-typical study plan. The examination regulations also describe the admission requirements for the various modules and the scope of the final examination. So it's worth taking a look inside!
